9 Cute Small Poodle Mixes Designer Dogs 101 Mix Breeds

You’re watching Animal Facts Poodles are among the most popular dog breeds
in the world. And, with good reason, they’re highly intelligent,
graceful and affectionate, not to mention low-shedding. For those reasons, they are also the most
popular parent of all when it comes to creating a hybrid, or designer dog breeds. In this list, we’ve compiled some of the
cutest of the small poodle hybrids, often called Doodle Dogs by aficionados. If you like poodles or just small cute dogs
in general, you’re bound to find a cutie on this list that melts your heart. Let’s get started, but before we start,
make sure to hit that subscribe button and click the bell icon to become part of our
notification squad. 9. Cockapoo One of the original “designer dogs”, the
Cockapoo has been with us since the 1960s. The product of a Miniature or Toy Poodle crossed
with a Cocker Spaniel, the Cockapoo is known for his sweet and often clownish personality. The Cockapoo is a lap dog, but he is also
intelligent, and easily trainable and quite the little athlete. His affectionate nature combined with his
good looks makes him one of the most popular of the designer dogs. And, being the oldest, he is also one of the
most consistent when it comes to traits to expect from this dog. 8. Maltipoo There’s no denying that the Maltipoo, often
called a Moodle, is a cutie. What really grabs you is this cute little
dog’s persona. Because of his loving and fun-loving nature,
grown-ups, as well as kids and seniors, will love him. A cross-breed between a Maltese and a Toy
or Miniature Poodle, the Maltipoo is usually non-shedding and his small size makes him
an excellent companion for apartment dwellers. He loves life, and his perfect day includes
playing games, going for a walk, and racing through the house. He enjoys long cuddles and is sensitive to
his people’s wants and needs. Like most of the hybrids on this list, he’s
intelligent and easy to train. 7. Peekapoo If you’d like a cute little Poodle Hybrid
more content to spend the day on your lap, the loyal and affectionate Peekapoo may be
more your style. No, he’s not a Pokemon, this Doodle Dog
is the cross between a Pekingese and a Toy or Miniature Poodle. Like the Cockapoo, the Peekapoo is among the
oldest Designer Dog breeds, developed back in the 1950’s. The Peekapoo is a loving and loyal dog who
is dedicated to his family. An ideal lapdog, he delights in being part
of every family activity. He is gentle and an intelligent dog who is
happiest in the company of his owner. Protective of his family, he’ll defend them
with everything his mall body can muster., although we have to admit that he’s not
very intimidating, it’s the thought that counts. 6. Yorkipoo When you take a dog as cute as cute as the
wee Yorkshire Terrier and cross it with a toy poodle, you get a hybrid that is beyond
adorable. The Yorkipoo is friendly, playful, smart,
and cute as all get out. His small stature makes him best suited to
a home with adults or older children and he’s quite comfortable in a small apartment. He’s an active and sometimes mischievous
dog, but he does have a sense of humor. He has plenty of energy to be burned off and
he loves to play when he’s not parked on your lap watching Animal Facts. And, his ability to run at supersonic speeds
and jump like Jordan can be surprising to those who aren’t expecting a cute, little
canine Superman. 5. Pomapoo If you are looking for a small-breed dog that
possesses the affectionate nature of a Pomeranian and the intelligence of a Poodle, the Pomapoo
may be the right Doodle Dog for you. This Pomapoo is known for his loving and affectionate
nature as much as for his small size and big personality and no less than a bit of cuteness. The Pomapoo is typically friendly and affectionate
by nature, though he may have more Pomeranian-like tendencies and be reserved around strangers. But, he may also be fairly outgoing at times,
and eager to make friends. 4. Shihpoo Shihpoo … wait, can I say that on YouTube? Anyway. The Shihpoo is obvious a Shih Tzu cross that
is always cute with an alert expression and sturdy body. He’s friendly and outgoing, and has a high
level of intelligence and trainability, although some can be a bit on the hard-headed side. So, what’s up with all these weird names? The naming conventions used for Designer Dogs
is what is called a portmanteau, which is basically combining to words. It started with breeds like the Cockapoo and
Peekapoo and later the Labradoodle and just sort of stuck. Although, it does lend itself to some pretty
obvious puerile humor with Shih Tzu mixes. Can you guess what a Jack Russel Shih Tzu
mix is called? OK, back to the list. 3. Chipoo By this point, you should probably be able
to figure out that a Chipoo is a toy poodle chihuahua mix. He may not be as open or friendly to strangers
as some of the other dogs on this list, but the Chipoo is loving and affectionate with
his people. He is a great companion dog and loves to be
part of a family environment. He loves to play, is quite intelligent, considered
easy to train due to his desire to please. He is also known to be quite independent,
turning any space into his own personal play zone – including a small apartment – so
lots of toys are a wise investment. Speaking of wise investments, have you seen
our Animal Facts Merch. We’ve got links to Animal Facts t-shirts
and more in the description. 2. Cavapoos The Cavapoo, also known as the Cavoodle, is
an adorable Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Poodle Hybrid who became popular through Australia
in the 1990s. The Cavapoo is a gentle and loving dog who
gets along very well with young children as we as with other small pets. The Cavapoo prefers the company of humans
and can become strongly attached to a specific owner. He’s intelligent and responds well to gentle
guidance. And he’s just super cute. So, before we get to number one, which small
Doodle Dogs do you think are the cutest. Let us know in the comments. 1. Lhasapoo Finally, we get to the Lhasa Poo. Small and cuddly, the Lhasapoo makes a wonderful
companion for singles, couples, seniors and families alike, so pretty much everyone. Gentle in nature and extremely playful, this
dog makes a great addition to any growing family, as they do well with both children
and other dogs. A mix of Poodle and Lhasa Apso, this doodle
dog is gaining in popularity. He is small but mighty! Due to his moderate activity requirements
and small size, the Lhasapoo would do just fine in an apartment, so long as he gets a
bit of exercise every day. If you like this video, check out some of

  1. I have a CotonPoo….pronouced as COO-TON POO or some say PooTon which doesnt sound like a good name when youre Italian..LOL…… mix of a Toy Poodle and a Coton De Tulear (a breed from Madagascar)

  2. Over the last 25 years I have owned a peke poo, schnoodle and now a malti poo. They were all great dogs that stole my heart

  3. We had a wonderful lasapoo for 16 1/2 years! She was sweet and easy going. She loved playing, running on sandy beaches or in snow. She traveled through over 40 states with us. Great road trip dog, always garnering attention along the way.

  4. I have a cavoodle and he is absolutely amazing! He is turning 1 in July but he is very well behaved and smart. So my favourite is a cavoodle (Cavapoo). Anyone else have one?❤️

  5. None of the bad characteristics is covered for balanced information. Also only listed 9 cross breeds and list is not by breed intelligence for train ability.

  6. Cockerpoo are great smart dogs. Cocker spaniels are such great family dogs and were so popular years ago..they really need a comeback. Pomapoo are great too.

  7. Bella 10 mouths old she like to kill baby chick how do I stop her from eating them 😣😣 please help me 😢😢

  8. I have a Shihpoo. He is very adorable, and very smart. 🙂 If anybody was looking for a recommendation for a small dog or a puppy, i would recommend the Shihpoo.

  9. Our little guy is a miniature Labradoodle. He is an F1 hybrid of a standard Lab and miniature Poodle. Our Buddy was a rescue who did not meet the breeder’s expectations. He is a bit undersized and has some crooked teeth, but that doesn’t matter to us or to him.

  10. My puppy is Shihpoo he is so naughty he likes to bite but he always listen to what I say and behave wherever I'm around :>

  11. Poor Wolves didn't stand a chance now we mix them into smaller breeds I love them but it's more confusion though

  12. I adore my Shipoo. Even as a old lady (9 years old) she's still the same in my heart: kind, affectionate, energetic, and protective. ❤

  13. People have a huge misconception that some dogs are dumb. No animal is dumb. All,wild and domestic are intelligent.

  14. They're beautiful dogs, but I didn't see any half-Bichon/half-poodle breeds. I have a white one and he's gorgeous!! He celebrated his 4th birthday yesterday.

  15. Designer dogs are cute but they are still considered “MUTTS”… so when people try to past them as anything else and sell them for ridiculous prices it’s disturbing … it’s worth $150 or less lol

  16. I think every single one here is beautiful! I have a cockapoo so I’m a bit partial! I think every dog in general is beautiful in its own way..

  17. Reading these comments.. The video was about the “cutest.” But the reactions are, for the most part, not about that! 🙂 More so, about how we care about our pets!

    Love my Cavoodle “Lola”

She’s sassy. But a sweet and wonderful pooch buddy

  18. My maltipoo is the SWEETEST THING EVER!!!!!😍😍😍. Gentile, calm, smart, fun, goofy, obedient, and perfect in all ways!!!!😍😍😍. But he’s cutest when he has medium length fur not in weird shaved patterns…

  19. Maltipoos (all poodles/ mixes) are so cute when they arent shaved down – like in this video Imo. Wheres the “puppy cut” ? So much cuter

  20. My favorite is my havapoo (havanese poodle cross). Wrigley is very intelligent, easy to train, is not a barker, and great with people though I believe some of this is because of the training znd experiences we presented him with from the day we brought him home. 😏

  21. I have a Cavapoo puppy, he’s got so much energy that I think I’ll need to get fitter just to keep up!

A number of people have mentioned some mixes that were missed. I agree, which makes me wonder why this was ,strangely, only a “best of nine “

  22. I hate to be the naysayer in all this cuteness. But all doodles are mutts and the vast majority of them come from puppy mills. Before buying one please please please do your research. Look up the guy that started the hole doodle thing. He refers to it as the single biggest mistake of his life and has left training service dogs because of it. Do not get one thinking that it will be hypoallergenic either very few actually are.
