Chief Architect X10 New Features – Library Catalogs and Content

Hi I’m Jenna with Chief Architect. In
this video segment I’m going to show you some of the new features added in Chief
Architect X10 which include the ability to maintain your catalogs on the cloud.
Let’s begin by looking at these library browser enhancements.
If you have created custom library browser filters like filtering
manufacturer catalogs you can migrate these library filters when upgrading to
Chief Architect X10. A new preference setting is available for the location of
your library database. For those that want to store their library on a network
or a cloud location this new setting can be beneficial for multi-user
installations or for those that want access to the library from both their
home or office. A key benefit in this case is to have a common library without
the need to download and maintain two or more copies of the library database. High
speed internet access is required to use this option. In the library browser
search has been implemented by folder. For example to search for a specific
item in the Rev-a-Shelf catalog right-click on the folder and enter the
search criteria. New catalogs are available for download in the 3D library
including Rev-a-Shelf, Sub-Zero, Wolf and others. The library browser has been
updated to show material previews the previews will be in high-definition and
show normal or bump maps as part of the material. The materials can be applied to
one of the 3D shapes and you can also change the camera style for the preview.
Symbol objects have an option to insert into walls and you can specify the depth
for these symbols. Examples of these symbols include medicine cabinets and
decorative wall niches. Wall framing will treat the symbol as it would for an
opening. There are several great new features
added to Chief Architect X10 that you can expect to see in early 2018 and
remember all new software purchases include free upgrades for the first year
so if you’re not currently a customer get started today with Chief Architect
