Choosing Installation Inside or Outside Mount | Zone Interiors

All Zone Interiors blinds can be mounted inside
or outside your window frame, depending on your preference. The first decision to make when measuring
and installing your blinds, is what style you prefer Be that Venetian, Cord Safe, Roller, or Cellular blinds, and whether you’d like an inside or outside mount. The option you choose will have an impact
on the look of your blinds. It may also have a bearing on the amount of
light coming in through the sides of your window frame. Let’s have a look the differences between
inside and outside mounted blinds. We know it sounds obvious, but if you decide
to go with an inside mount, the blind is mounted inside the window frame. An inside mount gives you a minimalist, streamlined
look. With an inside mount, you may get a stream
of light on either side of the blind, due to the required spacing on left and right-hand
sides of the blind to accommodate brackets. The exception here is cellular and aluminum
style Venetian blinds because the bracket is fixed overhead, giving a better room darkening
capacity. Lastly, an important tip. If you’re thinking of an inside mount, make
sure you have no obstacles such as window winders or sills that will get in the way
of operating the blind. If you do, we’d recommend going with an outside
mount. Zone Interiors blinds come in a wide range
of different sizes. But if you can’t find one that perfectly fits
your window, cut to size service is available on most of our DIY blinds. With an outside mount, the blind is mounted
either on the window frame itself or outside the frame on the wall. When installing to a wall, make sure you locate
a suitable anchor point, such as a wall stud, for installation strength, or use appropriate
masonry plugs and screws when fixing directly to concrete or brick wall. It also gives you flexibility when choosing
your blind, as size isn’t as much of an issue. The blind simply overlaps the window frame. Here’s another tip. If you have window winders that could get
in the way of an inside mount, we suggest an outside mount is the way to go. Otherwise, your inside mounted blind will
hit the winders on the way down. Inside mount, or outside mount. What you choose comes down to taste and the
functionality you need. All Zone Interiors blinds come with the components
to suit both options. To learn how to measure your windows for an
