Day 19 – Installation Bin for your Interior Design Business

Hi there Julia Molloy here business expert for the design industry and we are taking We’re taking it to the next level here people we are on day 19 of our get organized program and Today is a really good one. This one’s kind of meaty This is your installation kit checklist, so you know how there’s like that bin or big bag or something that you Bring with you to your installs You know how? There’s a lot of times There’s a lot of back and forth about what you need to bring or we’re running out of this or gosh You know What we should remember to bring next time you know those kind of conversations well That’s what spawned the whole installation kit checklist said, this is a whole checklist of all of the things that you Bring in your installation bin the installation, bin I like the tubs Because there’s a lot of stuff you gotta bring so I mean I guess the bag is fine but you know those tubs that you buy with the top and I Like that and then you have a place to keep this this should be taped Or put in a clear sleeve on the inside like it on the inside the underside of the top of the tub the lid Okay, so when you’re on site during an installation, and you find that you’re running low on something you have the installation kit checklist there, and you can put notes or like write a note saying get more and So there’s not a whole lot of memory or back and forth or I got to remember to tell the expediter to get this You know what that was just here And they know that when the tub comes back after an installation That did they are to look at the installation checklist and see if there’s anything that they need to restock And this is just everything from general like you know footies and gloves to You know TP and the camera and bottled water and you know decorative things like lamping and you know plate stands and Candle sleeves and that kind of stuff – all the hardware that you likely will need fix your hangers felt bottoms You know tape wood filler markers All the tools like measuring tape scissors screwdrivers box cutter glue gun Everyone needs a glue gun and what are you doing with that glue gun ended up on my list for some reason? This is someone must have said that they needed it at some point And cleaning supplies and that kind of thing so again your this is your list. I’m giving you the actual editable file so they’re meant to be branded with your logo on it and Adjusted as needed make it your own. Okay add this to your installation procedures, and this is generally done Either by the expediter if you have an admin expediter or they can manage this or also either jr. Can manage this okay, but it is someone’s job, and if you decide who And it’s their job to keep this updated. It’s everyone’s job Everyone’s job on an installation to make sure to mark anything that needs To be restocked or if there’s a note on there like need a different size You know of the the felt bottoms, or you know remember to get this type of light bulb Or you know whatever it is. It’s everyone’s job to keep this updated On site and then when it gets back to the office It is the either the junior designer or your admin expediter To go through take a look and make sure that that tub is well stocked and ready for next time okay So it’s simple straightforward, but you know some of these like little procedures Just they streamline things, and I just make it so simple and this is the the key to having a very smooth running Efficient happy little office, okay, so I hope you enjoyed that enjoy this checklist. Let me know what you think of it I think it’s pretty good. So anyway. That’s it for today be BOLD We’re almost done, and we are almost totally organized. I’m banging on the desk I’m bouncing around. Oh, that’s totally organized And I hope that you’ve been running along and doing this this process with me, and it’s making a difference I will see you next time people and I will see you for day 20 our last day of getting organized until then bye.
