Daycare Tips : What Does It Take to Be a Daycare Teacher?

Hi, my name is Veronica Baragas with my WigglesandGiggles.com,
and I’d like to share with you what it takes to be a daycare teacher. Now on the regulation
side, usually it only takes a high school diploma or a GED equivalent with maybe a few
college courses, or you can change it out for some experience with childcare. So each
childcare facility is going to have different minimum standards as far as what it takes
to be a childcare teacher. But on the flip side, I would like to say that it takes someone
with a really big heart and lots of patience, and really the passion to want to work with
children, to be a daycare teacher. It’s a lot of work, and you deal with lots of raw
emotion, and you work long days, and you’re basically taking care of another families
child. So I think the passion and love for children and a big heart and lots of patience
is what it really, really takes for a daycare teacher to thrive in her position and to last.
It takes a lot of hard work and dedication, so make sure that you have your heart in the
right place when it comes to a daycare teacher.

  1. this is a great video and great advice. a lot of people I know say that they love working with children and love kids but don't really understand that it does take ALOT of patience and dedication to be a teacher and child care provider. as a teacher myself, it does get overwhelming at times especially when you've got a lot going on in your own personal life. BUT it's SO worth it in the long run.
