Designer La Van Trung Hieu Talks About His Mondrian Inspired Collection For Juno

Art and fashion are related fields; artists and designers both use lines, colors, shapes… to create products. Art is an inspiration for fashion, and fashion is a tool to bring art to everyday life. Our SS19 collection is inspired
by the artworks of Piet Mondrian one of the greatest artist of the 20th century
(by Times magazine). At his time, Mondrian simplified the complicated art world by straight lines and primary colors. His paintings are now iconic and immediately recognizable. Through the years, Mondrian Art keep inspiring fashion. Designers and brands such as
Yves Saint Laurent, Prada, Nike… have paid tribute the concept and incorporated the design into their own lines. We choose Mondrian Art as
the focus of this SS19 collection not only because these primary colors
are the biggest trend of this year, but we also want to pay tribute to
one of the world masterpiece. Mondrian art is almost 100 years old this year but fits very well with the current
trendy shoe and bag forms. Our team designed the font of “Walk Freely”
based on Mondrian’s signature. We also use the transparent material
to imitate the glass frame for the art. “Walk Freely” is the name
and also the spirit of this collection. Mondrian art is limited by the elements but
has transcended cultures. We also want to encourage our customers to be confident with what they have and keep walking freely on their own paths.
