How Amy Feldman of 2 Broke Girls became a set decorator | Warner Bros. Property

I started many years ago when I
graduated from college I went to Boston University and I studied broadcasting in
film and I didn’t know I wanted to be a decorator because I didn’t know the job
existed but I always loved film and i always loved design. I just didn’t know
how to put the two together. My mother always had a good sense of design. I always appreciated that but I moved out here
after college just wanting to work in film somehow. In my first job I just
pounded the pavement and I got just by chance a job in the art department. I was
an art department PA on a movie called Shy People and it was just luck. I worked in the art department and I really liked it but I didn’t know again what
that was so I bounced around a little bit. I was
an office PA and I always kind of migrated back to the art department and
eventually I worked on a movie called The Fabulous Baker Boys. I started
working more in set dressing and it was the movie The Fabulous Baker Boys
that I worked on. I got a job in set dressing and that’s when the show went
union and I just kind of worked my way up the ladder. I was a set dresser
for years and I just stuck with it and I really found I had a knack for it and because I would just guess you could say was happenstance that I fell into it
but it was a little bit of luck and talent and good guidance. I had a lot of
great teachers I worked with a lot of great decorators and I just stuck
with it and I pursued it and I just put my way up the ladder and then here I
am tonight.
