100 thoughts on “How To Present Logo Designs and Identity Projects to Clients

  1. WOW The ratio of Likes:Dislikes is almost 10:0.01.
This only happens when a channel provides real value instead of just selling courses at the end of the video.

  2. Saw that Emily's links were called out below, but they don't seem too be there any more. Other than that, Great video and it was cool to see another viewpoint on presenting new identity/brand work.

  3. I dare you to try this. Then make a new video that addresses this approach. In this video you are advising 1 common and crucial mistake. Do NOT present 3 versions unless you want to create a frankenstein, sub par version of the identity. You have been hired as the expert in id design. You are basically saying to your client ‘I am stuck and don’t know how to complete this work, please help me’ Present the most suitable version. Why leave it to the marketing guy’s wife to decide. Which is what happens when you present options. The client hired you to make these decisions. They have enough decisions to make doing their usual job. Don’t ask them to make your decisions for you. You will be surprised at the effect of owning the expert opinion. It results in higher perceived value of your work and hence more work at higher pricing. Be the expert.

  4. I'm a one man shop, talented designer who hates selling and all the technical jargon associated with selling and design.

This host, his style, delivery and knowledge simplifies the process and makes it not only bearable but he transforms it into a sort of enjoyable challenge.

  5. Hi futur. Thanks for a great video and all the other advice as well. Can you post more of these videos where we learn about design on the client side. How to present different types of projects ie branding, packaging, animation, advertising/editorials? What is expected of a high end designer? How and What files are delivered to the clients at the end? What should the timelines be? Whst is an acceptable amount of time to draft a logo for example? Thanks Sakina

  6. “How much would it take for you to design that?” —> My experience with clients is that they see it on the mock-up and think that’s the design. In other words, it shouldn’t cost them for me to design that. How do I justify charging extra for their logo in a larger format?

  7. This was so great, and helpful! One thing not covered was salesmanship. Many designers are just awkward in conversation, unlike yourself. They communicate better through email, and text than in person. They would just blow it in a presentation your talking about. How to help them?

  8. This is excellent, thank you so much for creating this video. I m upping my presentation game amongst other things.

  9. 11:40 I am a little confused at this point, do you charge more to provide the files for the mockup designs which are essentially already designed and don't take anything but submitting the logo to a clothing making company? Or am I missing something

  10. I just came across this video. BEN, THIS VIDEO IS A MASTERPIECE. Sooo informative, so clear, so organised and so well edited. THANK YOU!

  11. Hey Ben, are you presenting every logo on the same mockups or are you changing them from logo to logo?

  12. This video is not to be ignored. I do some graphic design but I am an industrial designer in university right now and this was wildly helpful.

  13. OK… First, I love the video and especially Ben's style. But, a couple of things. Watch Bill Burr's comments on Apple AKA Steve Jobs. It's right on. Nerd Jesus hahaha. Next Apple computers represent give or take 10% of computers worldwide. I feel Ben's comments on Keynote not being a Windows app were disrespectful. Apple is an OS just like Windows Linux Google and others. That's all it is. It's not Nirvana. Hello? Adobe has more Windows users than Apple. Most Adobe tutorials on YouTube rightfully recognize this. Ben talks about Photoshop. Again. Hello? Who cares if you are running Photoshop on a Mac or a Windows device??? Or download Storyblocks content on whatever device/OS of your choice. Keep up the good work Ben. Don't betray your non-hip heritage. It's what makes your videos appealing (as other commentators have noted).

  14. Very nice info….. Typically, I have been following almost 80% of the steps explained. I've got some more very important factors, what I should talk post presentation. It's a pure science of psychology. Love this topic……great work 'thefuture'….and ofcourse Ben is too good in presenting tips on the presentation. Wish to see more videos like this.🙂

  15. Awesome! Great job Mr. Ben Burns 🙂
This is definitely one of the best futur videos ever made. Thanks alot

  16. If you feel like there's no room for your talent… this pund it's really big and it's getting bigger… start creating now! With or without clients

  17. Thank you so much! you just made my day
You can not imagine how much I needed somebody to explain all these steps for me!

  18. After so long I have found one of the best guy who tought me how to represent my creative project.

    Loved watching your video…bro.

  19. this video was awesome. i'm a marketer moving into graphic design and it is awesome to learn from a designer who understands the importance of storytelling. thanks!

  20. How long should the client have for feedback? You mention setting a feedback date whether that's an email or meeting. Whats the average time they should be given, before we start to enter to long? Great video, tons of value, thank you.

  21. Hey, excellent work, eye opening and helpful!
I ended up buying the The perfect proposal + The Complete Case Study bundle 🙂
I can't seem to find Emily's templates anywhere on the video!

  22. Great stuff .. i dropped out of my college to start my own venture and for a very long period there was this thick cloud what i later came to realize was imposter syndrome untill I started watching your videos and realized every designer goes through this and the only thing that matters is the grit to preserve and eventually it all starts coming together.

This channel is great help. Can't say this enough.

Keep up the good work. 👍

  23. Wow this is very valuable Information, and can be applied generally anywhere in a presentation/Client F2F setting. Thanks alot The Futur!

  24. Hi Ben, Does this principles applies the same ways as to presenting University design project or not? Love to hear you're feedback in the comments.

  25. Why did Emily open a different window when the came over. I think she was doing something that she ed not supported to do. 🤣

  26. Thank you very much for this!
    However, I have a question:

What is your take on the best tool for designing (logos): PS or AI?
Minus the while process, that is, Mock ups etc. Just designing a logo.

    Please reply!

  27. I really disagree with clients wanting a new brand identity that will “sell more.” How crazy a proposition is that. The tech giants and innovative companies of the world don’t have anything revolutionary in terms of design. Any half decent designer can make the Apple logo in 2 minutes. It’s the value they create for the brand that sells and the visibility they create for the identity that makes it memorable.

  28. This video is straight fire! but I cant get over the fact that I'm tired of only seeing white dudes and white girls and the occasional asian. Like wtf. Why is it only white dudes are allowed in front of the camera?

  29. Awesome content, a sidenote, I think Canva is much better than either Keynote or PowerPoint and it's really underused 🙂

  30. First of all How about proper English title…? Just saying, that prevented me from wanting to watch the vid

  31. Ben, you da man. I'm designing a brand right now for a client, and this gave me some good inspiration to upgrade my presentation game.

  32. Video is really helpful, but I have a question. What If client can't meet us as a person cuz it's too far ? The only option I know is just send files on e-mail. Idk how to show logo while talking over a video call. Is there any software that allows us to do this ? Most of my all clients are on whatsapp and they just ask for and e-mail. And for videocall they only prefer WhatsApp video call. Idk how I'm gonna show design over a WhatsApp call. Help ? Please !!?
