Before stenciling, don’t forget to apply
spray adhesive. Lightly mist the back of your stencil before hanging on your wall,
and this will help reduce bleed. Now evenly load your dense foam roller with
Blackened Bronze metallic paint from Modern Masters. You can do this by
loading paint onto your roller, and then offloading it onto a paper towel.
Attach your clip-on sense a level to the bottom of your stencil. This tool is
super helpful because when the bubble rests in the center of your level, you
know your stencil is straight! Apply light pressure to your dense foam roller
when stenciling.Ffirst we’re going to cover the entire stencil with Blackened Bronze paint and don’t be afraid to add another coat of paint if necessary. Next
we’re adding details with Modern Masters Pale Gold paint. Depending on the size of
the detail, you can use a dense foam roller or a professional stencil brush.
Add a small amount of paint to your professional stencil brush, and pounce
your brush up and down to help reduce bleed. Use the registration marks and the
previously stencil areas to easily align your stencil. Now, repeat your stenciling
process until the entire accent wall is complete! An important tip to remember is that
stencils are super flexible, and can bend at the crease of the baseboard. Use your
fingers to press the stencil into the crease of the baseboard, and stencil
downwards with your professional stencil brush. Once you’re finished,
go back in and add the gold details!
