Installing METOD – Chapter 6: Lighting

Consider cable management before
mounting the cabinets: Where do you need lighting? Where do you want the cable to come out
from the cabinet? Where do you connect the cables to the
power source? Some cabinets may need to be prepared
for sockets. Measure where to cut a hole in the back
piece. This glass cabinet, for example, is
already prepared with a spotlight to ensure the cable runs easily between
the cabinet and the rail. When installing the UTRUSTA worktop
lighting, always start with the 40 cm unit with
power supply from the left. The power supply needs to be installed
by an electrician. If you want spotlights connected to the
UTRUSTA worktop lighting, don’t forget to connect the cable from
the spotlights to the worktop lighting before mounting
on the cabinet. Put the lights together with connector
pieces. The width of the different worktop
lights is adapted to the widths of the
cabinets. In this case we use the intermediate
cord for the corner solution. Another alternative is the corner
joiner. In that case you start to build the
system from the corner. Cover the holes with the plastic covers
which are included. When installed, the UTRUSTA lighting is
switched on as default. To enable the switch off-and-on function
and dim-ability, activate the remote control by pressing
the button on the armature so it shines. When the button shines hold the remote control close to the
armature and press it lightly. Repeat with each piece of armature in order to synchronise all lighting
switches on and off at the same time. Use several remote controls for partial
lighting. For OMLOPP worktop lighting The plastic cable trunking (included) is dimensioned for an exact placement of
the OMLOPP worktop lighting. Use the cable trunking as a template to
draw a vertical line for correct placement of the plastic
mounting bracket. Fix the plastic mounting bracket with
screws which are included. Click on the lamps, hide the lighting cables using the tape
and plastic cable trunking, connect the lamp cable to the
transformer multiple connector. use the ANSLUTA power supply cord to connect from transformer to the power
outlet. To synchronise the switch on-and-off
function and dim-ability, follow the same procedure as shown
previously. The difference is that you press the
button on the transformer instead of the armature. OMLOPP drawer lighting There are two installation
possibilities: One – Click the lighting strip onto the
metal frame in the drawer. Only valid for the top drawer. Two – Affix drawer light with screws (included) on the side panel of the cabinet. Valid for a lower positioning of drawer
lighting. Use the ANSLUTA power supply cord to connect from transformer to the power
outlet. Bring the cord from the lamp backwards along the upper left corner of
the cabinet Cover the exposed cord with the plastic
cable trunking, which is included. Connect the lamp cable to the
transformer multiple connector. OMLOPP lighting strip for drawers has a
motion sensor that turns on/off when opening/closing
the drawer.
