Interior Decorating Ideas : How to Choose a Pillow

Hi, I’m Ann Myrick, and today, I’m going to
show you how to choose a pillow. First of all I’ll just say right off the bat I’m not
a person that likes a ton of pillows. We got into this phase where people were put putting
twelve and thirteen pillows on their bed, or a lot of pillows in the chair, and I don’t
really like that because it’s not comfortable, where if somebody comes in and they want to
sit down they have to take all these pillows off. So, I like three pillows, two pillows
on a couch, but I’m not a, I’m not an overkill pillow person. In looking at pillows, when
you pick out a couch, a lot of times, or a piece of furniture, a lot of times a pillow
will automatically come with the couch. And many times, you can get the pillow upholstered
in a different fabric than the couch, and so that’s always good to do, but sometimes
the pillows that come with sofas are kind of boring, and so I always like to kind of
mix things up. One of my favorite things; these are worn and these are a little bit
torn but I love them. I love tec; bringing texture anyway you can into a room. So, a
lot of these pillows; because they have a lot of texture it’s just a normal pillow,
but it just brings great texture and great color into the room. And what I do is I just;
these are the pillows that came with the couch that I had covered in a different color, had
colored in green, and then I just use the woven pillows to create texture. All different
types. You can get pillows that are real fuzzy. I love these. Again, it creates texture in
the, in wintertime. It just adds a little warmth to a couch. Large pillows are great
to put on a couch. Smaller pillows; maybe one small pillow. Really has to do with the
color scheme of your room, where it’s going to go, and what it’s for. Sometimes you need
a pillow just more for back purposes, and so you want to be sure that it supports your
back. And then, if you’re mainly getting it for just the design and the color just have
fun looking around at different places and find pillows that have great texture and are
real different. This is Ann Myrick, and that’s how you pick out a pillow.
