KITCHEN TOUR |Small Kitchen Ideas

So today’s video is all about a kitchen
makeover done on a budget for $1,500 stay tuned so one of the first things
that Josh and Alice did. Oh, by the way, this is my daughter-in-laws kitchen. My
other daughter-in-law, in case you’ve watched other videos. The first thing
they did in this kitchen was they replaced the countertops and they chose
butcher block countertops. They got them unfinished, all of them, including
what they used to seal it which was water locks, for two hundred and fifty
dollars. So the second thing that they did was they raised the kitchen cabinets now
they were raised twelve inches higher having the cabinet’s all the way to the
ceiling opens up this entire room and makes it look much larger. So her kitchen
cabinets she painted the top ones white but to add some flair to the kitchen
design the bottom cabinets were painted using blackberry paint in the color
Sunday suit. After she was finished painting, she applied two coats of poly
acrylic. The next project on this one was the hardware so they removed all the
hardware and they cleaned it all with Craig cutter, love that name,
and then they sprayed it with rust-oleum in the color brushed pewter and it turned out great they didn’t have to spend any money on
hardware, that’s working on a budget! Next they added shiplap using floor laman
from the home improvement store and painted it white. It turned out beautiful! Now a
trick to this, when you want it to look dark in between the slats go ahead and
paint your wall black then add the laminate over it and paint it white. That
gives you your depth. Alice really loves the look of open shelves so Josh
filtered these open shelves to go all the way across.
She has accessorized them normally so let’s look over here in the
kitchen area they replaced the light with a galvanized sconce and then Alice made
some adorable cafe curtains pulling out some color. Even the blue from the bottom cabinetry, the other more expensive item that they added to their list was
this sink. It is 10 inches deep, the girl is a real cook, and needed the space. They didn’t want a divided sink. They also replaced the faucet. You really can
create a beautiful space on a budget. It takes a little work, it takes a little
brainpower and a little extra sweating and Advil
but the kitchen turned out beautiful! Thank you so much for watching this
video, be sure to subscribe to my channel because we’re going to have a video out
again next week. Have a wonderful day

  2. I love how that kitchen came out! Just what I want to do to my kitchen! Could you possibly show us how it looked before? Love your decorating and videos! Hugs, KimπŸ€—πŸ’•

  3. Another great video! I'm sending this to my daughter-in-law. This is her look and gives her some great ideas. Be blessed!

  4. I'm not a farmhouse type gal, but I can appreciate it when done well, and this was done SO well! Seriously great ideas and execution that can be adapted to suit other styles. Great budget makeover! Thank you for sharing.

  5. Would you please adopt me? If I weren't already married I would ask if you had another son! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Seriously, I love your design and channel ❀❀❀

  6. Unless you are tall, raising the cabinets seems like it would be an ergonomic problem for most cooks. Obviously they didn't have a soffit that was needed for plumbing and electric for a second floor above. The colors are lovely and the hardware turned out beautifully.

  7. I really love this kitchen, and the white and blue cabinets. Love how they raised the cabinets and added shelves. Fantastic job!

  8. TFS! Kudos to your daughter in law and son fantastic job!! I agree with spending on upgraded sink & faucet! I’m in front of my kitchen sink more than on my couch! Lol, looks clean, updated what style is that? Modern farmhouse? Love it! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

All of my friends seem to have bigger budgets than me, but I can do this! I am SOOOOO jealous right now.

  10. Love it! It's got a little bit of that farmhouse style but lots of personality. Love the strong blue cabinets balanced with lots of white. Great choices.

  11. The cabinets are too high! Not a good decision. Open shelves tho popular require constant dusting and degreasing (specially in a kitchen) of items stored there – have tried that and gave it up – less work. These are designer ideas that just aren't practical.
