Leap of Faith: A Monument Avenue Home Transformed

Leap of Faith: A Monument Avenue Home Transformed

So the project came together, it was just
one of those, I don’t know it’s kind of a miracle of sorts. It’s just one of those things that came together
so quickly. Meeting with Mike and Jeff, we discussed their
two styles. Mike has a more traditional style, this was
his home and he lived here for many years and then he met Jeff, who has a completely
different aesthetic. Jeff is more modern and Mike’s more traditional. So it was developing a plan that would incorporate the two styles and make both of the homeowners happy. I mean just like magic, we came up with the
moodboards, things that we think would appeal to the both of them. They loved the mood boards, we instantly got
started with all of the ordering and the planning and scheduled everything to arrive on a certain date. Homeowners went out of town, they went to
Palm Springs. We got busy for one week installing everything,
and it all miraculously came together in that one week. They came back for the big reveal. These guys had no idea, they were totally,
you know they saw the mood boards, and they saw samples, fabric samples and things like
that, but for the most part they had no idea what to expect. I didn’t have a budget, I didn’t have a set
look that they wanted. And luckily not having a whole lot of constraints
allows you the creativity and flexibility to really dream up what your interpretation
of their two styles coming together is, and they happen to love it. It was exciting to hit a home run in that regard. I didn’t feel like we needed to have a departure
from what we normally do. I spend money, I spend my client’s money as if it’s my own. I will always try to get a good deal and negotiate
and I’ll give them what I think they need for their house. Based on the architecture of the house, the
style of the house. There’s no reason, we don’t have the budget,
there’s no reason we have to go full-blown custom, there’s no reason we have to spend
any more money than we have to. I feel like you get more business by really
giving good design and affordable design.
