New Modern Lighting Trends in 2013 – Lightology

Kara Manning: Hi, I’m Kara Manning, and you’re
behind the scenes of Lightology at the Dallas International Lighting
Market. This is where thousands of shoppers and
industry professionals just like myself are coming to
find the latest on trend and innovative lighting products in this industry. I’m braving these
crowds and canvassing over one million square feet
of lighting exhibition space just to bring you
the very best of what’s new to come at Lightology. Edge Lighting: So far Dallas has been a very
exciting show for us. We’ve introduced a few new decorative products and
we’ve also introduced our new LED channel catalog
that just came out in January. Tech Lighting: We do integrate a lot of our
fixtures to be what I would describe as clean and sophisticated. Stonegate Design: It’s what the North American
manufacturer and distributor of Missoni consider to be probably
the largest brand house in America at this time
in the lighting industry. WPT Design: We work with an artist in Louisiana
who’s very talented. Each of these pieces of glass is a signed work
of art. Swarosvski: This is a world first innovative
LED crystal candle. So, Swarosvski invented the crystal candle with
the LED technology in it. Pure Lighting: Pure Lighting was developed
with the concept of everything has to be plastered into the drywall. So,
everything with Pure you’re going to see becomes part
of the architecture. Arteriors Home: This is one of our most popular
chandeliers. It’s the Maxim. We’ve seen it in entranceways and dining
rooms. Celebrities have used it in their dining rooms. Mondoluz: It’s late at night, time to go to
bed, but you don’t want to dig for the switch. You can just wave your
lamp goodbye. Philips: Philips is a big, big corporation,
so we not only have residential fixtures, but we also have a large
professional base. So, there’s a lot of innovation power within the company and we share and
do all that. We can use that for residential fixtures. Alico: One of our new family lines for 2013
is the combo bath and vanity with our FPS System, front plate slide. Lutron: What Lutron has done is we designed
a dimmer that will not only control all those sources, but they can control
them well. Eurofase: We’ve got chrome with clear crystal,
12 feet of aircrafts cable, low voltage pad and we’ve gone with
the chrome pad on it and we wanted it to have that mirrored
reflector effect. Hinkley: The name of this group is called
Bijou. It’s a combination of laser cut solid steel arms done in a very,
very high polished nickel finish. Matthews Fan Company: I am most excited about
our first paddle fan that Matthews Fan Company has brought to the market.
This is the Irene 3 and the Irene 5. Holtkotter: Again, P1 dimming system, but
they have a very, very small profile and beautiful light. LBL: This is Lola that I’ve been wanting to
do. I love antique perfume bottles. And I’ve always wanted to do a fixture
for the bathroom with a perfume shape. ET2: So far, I feel like this is kind of our
feature collection. This is the Orion. You have a large pendant, a smaller
pendant, a flush-mount and a wall sconce. In the
larger pendant, there are actually 60 different LEDs
that are in it. Hubbardton Forge: We’re always looking to
develop new things and new ideas. But the real goal is also to keep it
all with the Hubbardton Forge family. Sonneman: We’re very excited by Quattro. Quattro
is really an achievement in marrying science and art. What Quattro
is, is a task lamp with a flat panel display controlled
by an optical sensor switch. Varaluz Alternating Current: We use primarily
recycled, reclaimed or natural materials wherever we can. We have
a little fun with design. We try not to be quite like
everything else that you might have available out
there.
