Oracle Responsys – Email Campaign Designer Overview

Welcome to Oracle Marketing Cloud Help
Center Videos. In this video I’ll provide an overview of the Campaign Designer
focusing on email messages. The Campaign Designer has an easy-to-use interface to
build your campaign content and add advanced features like personalization
tokens and dynamic content. Navigate to the Campaign Designer by
creating a new campaign or editing an existing one. Let’s take a tour of the
different areas of the Campaign Designer. At the top, you can view information
related to your campaign status such as draft, active, or closed. Here you’ll see
who created the campaign and when it was last modified. If the campaign approval
feature is enabled for your account and you’re creating an email message you’ll
see any approval request status here. Click on the campaign’s name to change
it. In the email message panel you can edit your campaign’s data sources, create
and edit messages. You’ll see a snapshot of saved messages here. Under About your campaign, view your campaign’s description, purpose, the folder, and many other
details. Use the targeting panel to ensure your campaign is sent to the
right contacts. If your campaign’s audience is too broad and its message to
general recipients might not feel like you sent the message with them in mind. Use the Additional settings panel to configure settings related to the email’s
footer, attachments, unsubscribes, notifications, and so on. Click show errors to view any errors with your campaign and fix them. Several
options under Preview and Test help verify your campaign and ensure it
is ready to be launched. Preview mode opens in a new tab. View
your message at different screen widths corresponding to desktop, tablet, and
mobile phone form factors. Avoid broken links in your messages by testing them. When you run a deliverability test in the Campaign Designer SpamAssassin tests each message in the campaign to determine how likely it is
that either an email filter or your recipients will consider the message
spam. The result of each test receives a score of one to ten points. The higher the overall score, the greater the chance that the campaign might be
filtered by an email client or simply ignored by your recipients. A score of
five or higher raises a red flag of possible deliverability issues. A proof
list contains contacts who will receive your campaign before its official launch
to review it. The View drop-down has several options for analyzing your
campaign. For example use the Campaign summary to create a printable view and
use Insight to view the Campaign Analysis dashboard. Click Launch to
configure your launch settings. You can launch the campaign immediately, once, or at a recurring schedule. Under Notification, specify the email addresses
to receive sends progress notifications for skipped and/or sent messages and
failure notifications. Throttling controls the rate at which emails are
sent to prevent slow responses from too much volume. Once these options are
configured we’re ready to launch our campaign. For more information please
