Preparing Glass for Stained Glass Projects : Preparing Art Glass for a Ring Saw

O.k, I’m going to demonstrate right now, another
method of cutting out your glass. This is a ring saw, and instead of using your scorer,
the regular cutting scorer that you’re, that we were using earlier; I’m going to use this
ring saw to cut out our pieces. Now, when you’re using this, it has water that goes
along with the blade and that water can tend to take off your markings. So, a little trick
to the trade here, is to take some Vaseline and just gently smooth that over. Well, that
one has a little water in it. Smooth that over your piece, over these markings that
you have, that’ll keep it from wiping off, if I don’t rub too hard. And, I’ll be able
to see where my lines are. Also, this is good, it’s more gentle on the blade of the saw.
So, just like that.
