Stanley Modern Home in Los Angeles by XTEN Architecture A 12,000-pound granite boulder was used to create the outdoor fire feature. The circular, 70-foot-wide swimming pool gives the illusion of floating on air. A hydraulic lift opens and closes the “invisible” garage door. Kravitz served as creative director for the speculative development, introducing exotic wood and stone details while curating the wares and custom furniture. The home was designed by XTEN Architecture co-founders and husband-and-wife team Monika Haefelfinger and Austin Kelly, who died in 2015. It was Kelly’s final project.
