UWM partnership with Eppstein Uhen Architects benefits classrooms and facilities

Growing up in Wisconsin and wanting to stay here in the state, it’s been very rewarding for me to be able to grow a firm here
in Milwaukee, in Wisconsin. We’ve been involved in
a number of projects for the School of Architecture, including the school itself as well as the residence halls and Innovation Accelerator project. Really, UWM has been a training
ground for our employees. Over half of our staff today is from UWM. Back in 2006, I went and
spoke to Bob Greenstreet. The deal was we would start a studio that would train the students
in the use of the software, so it became a design studio. And it’s been 10 years running now, and it’s been a big
success for the school. I actually like working
with the students a lot. They’re always learning new technologies and learning new things, and that’s one thing I really like about teaching the BIM Studio is I’m involved with a younger group, they are always super sharp, and I think I learn a lot from them. When I went to school there, the school was a bit of an unknown, but today it’s got an
international recognition. And so to be able to see the school take on that kind of growth and be able to grow with it, it really makes me proud as a graduate of the School of Architecture at UWM. I feel very honored to
have Eppstein Uhen selected for the corporate award. It means a lot to each
and every one of us. Just to be recognized for that, it just made me feel how
much I appreciate working here at EUA. We hope to continue
our support of the school for many, many years to come.
