If you’re looking to add colour into your home, there’s some really great and quite simple ways that you can do so. One of my favourite
ways is to paint the skirting board around the edge of the room in a surprise accent colour.
What it does is to create a very striking statement, even though there’s only a small enough of colour in the space. So keep the rest of the space neutral, whether you have white walls or grey walls you could accent those with a
fantastic bright zingy yellow or red or even a blue, just round that skirting board. And it’ll create a really unique, surprising addition of colour. Another way you can add colour is with your front door or an internal door. If you paint a zingy neon colour around the edge of the door, it creates a really unexpected conversation starter when you open the door, as people won’t be expecting to see that lick of bright colour. Another way you can add colour as well, is to look at what you’ve already got in your space. Perhaps you’ve got a series of stools or
dining chairs, why don’t you tape off the two thirds of the way up the legs and then paint those in a bright colour to look like the pieces of furniture have been dipped into paint. It’s a great fun way to add a surprise pop of hue into a space.
